Pakistan, with its diverse geography and history, is prone to a wide range of natural and man-made disasters. This reality underscores the critical importance of protecting our educational institutions, which are the bedrock of our society. ISU-DoE&SE operates under the esteemed policy guidance of the Pakistan School Safety Framework (PSSF) and the KP Emergency Standard Operating Procedure (ESOP), providing a robust foundation for our efforts. As a provincial platform committed to addressing School Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), we have made significant strides in safeguarding our educational infrastructure and promoting a culture of preparedness and resilience. Since our inception, ISU-DoE&SE has achieved numerous milestones in the realm of disaster risk reduction and school safety. Through targeted trainings on DRR for Education Managers and Teachers, COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Parent-Teacher Councils (PTCs), Menstrual Health Management (MHM), and Health & Hygiene, we have empowered educational stakeholders with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate challenging circumstances. Moreover, we have consistently commemorated various international days with a special focus on DRR Mock Drills. These drills not only enhance the capacity of educational institutions but also empower students and teachers to respond effectively in times of crisis. I extend my sincere gratitude to all the individuals and organizations that have participated in and supported our endeavors. Your unwavering dedication, collaboration, and hard work have been instrumental in our collective success. I would also like to express our deep appreciation to UNICEF for their invaluable technical and financial assistance, which has played a pivotal role in enabling our activities. Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge the exceptional commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the ISU staff, the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education (DoE&SE), DCTE, DPD, Civil Defence, Rescue 1122 KP, PRCS, Scouts Girls Guide, and our development partners. It is through your tireless efforts, guidance, and cooperation that ISU-DoE&SE has been able to organize and undertake these vital initiatives. As we move forward, I am confident that our collective resolve and collaboration will continue to drive our efforts to make our educational institutions safer and more resilient. Together, let us remain steadfast in our pursuit of safeguarding the future of our nation.
