International DRR Day

International Disaster Risk Reduction Report.

Introduction:

Implementation Support Unit, Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa staff successfully accomplished field visit of District

 Dikhan regarding International Day Disaster Risk Reduction activities in schools.

One Day activity Mock Drill&IDRR walk-in District Dikhan. In One day, ISU Staff did activities in Two schools Government Girls Primary School Mujhaid Nagar and Government Middle school No2 Dikhan.

Proceeding

• On 12 October, 2022 a meeting was conducted with district education officer’s male and female separately in their respective Offices at D.I. Khan.
• During the meeting the DEOs were briefed about the International Disaster Risk Reduction Day activities objectives, planning and its execution.
• In both the Schools, the program started with the recitation of Holy Quran.
• After recitation of the holy Quran, the school head master welcomed the principals and DDEO to the guests participating in the program.
• The Young children of the school presented Nat Sharif and different kinds of poems in the program. And the children presented to the gust different types of picture made by hand on charts for possible measures to avoid floods.
• The representative of ISU thanked the DDEO, principals and guests who participated in the program. That you guys took out your valuable time and made the program vibrant.
• The ISU team Conducted mock drill with children and celebrated 13 October International Disaster day in Govt Middle School No2 Dikhan.
• The ISU team Conducted mock drill with children and celebrated 13 October International Disaster day in Govt Girls primary School Mujhaid Nagar Dikhan.
• On the occasion of International Disaster Risk Reduction Day, various Senior Principals of Govt Middle school participated. The Senior Principal & DDEO(M) gave speeches to the children and principals about possible flood prevention on international Disaster Risk Reducation day.
• In the school ISU team and DDEO& Principals and school children together carried banners in their hands and walked on the International Disaster Risk Reducation day.
• At the End of program, DDEO thanked the UNICEF ISU Team. That the ISU team came from so far away and made this program a range in our district.
• The District Education Officers(M&F) highly appreciated the efforts of the ISU team, UNICEF for their support.
